Cognitive dependency and intellectual autonomy

Investigating whether sustained AI dependence changes critical thinking, judgment, intellectual agency, and independent reasoning.

Research in development

Dependence is not assumed to be harmful. The stream investigates both cognitive enhancement and cognitive dependency as possible outcomes of the same practices.

It is the empirical centre of the programme, and the home of the proposed AI Withdrawal Experiment and the Human–AI Intellectual Capability Battery.
